About our Eureka concrete contractor company

How I got into concrete in Eureka

I learned concrete working on crews around Eureka, then spent years away from the trade doing other work. I came back and started Eureka Concrete in 2023 because I missed building things people stand on every day, like the walk up to your door, the driveway you pull into and the patio out back. Most of our calls are homeowners with one of those to deal with, and some are owners planning bigger work like footings and foundations.

What I care about most is the work you won't see once the concrete is in. That means the base the slab sits on, where the water runs when it rains, and the control joints, the lines we cut so a crack lands where we picked instead of across the middle. People tell me I take my time explaining a job, and that's on purpose, because I want you to know what you're paying for. No question is too small, so if something I say doesn't make sense, stop me and ask.

What you can count on when you call us

  • I walk the job with you myself

I come out in person to look at your driveway, patio or slab, and we go over it together so your questions get answered before you decide anything. I'm also on site with our crew while the work gets done, so the person who gave you the estimate is the one watching the pour.

  • Your estimate shows the work underneath

Your written estimate spells out the base, the drainage and the joints, so you can set it next to other bids and see what each one includes. The base is the first thing a cheap bid trims because nobody sees it on day one, and it's the last thing I'd cut, since a nice finish on loose dirt sinks right along with the dirt.

  • We tell you when a smaller fix will do

If your slab is sound and only the surface is worn or chipping, a new surface may be all it needs, and we'll tell you so before we talk about a tear-out. The work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee, and you can reach us at (707) 572-3701 or through our contact page to set up a free estimate.

Licenses and insurance

  • City of Eureka business license

The City of Eureka requires a City Business License for any business working inside city limits, including contractors based outside them, so it's a fair thing to ask anyone bidding your job. Not every Eureka-area address is inside those limits, so we check whether yours goes through the city or the county first, and the city's ward map will show you too. When a job needs a permit, we handle the paperwork with you and start early, since some of it takes time.

  • State contractor license

The Contractors State License Board treats a general building contractor as someone doing work that takes at least two unrelated trades, so a general builder can take a concrete-only job, in some cases, only with the matching specialty license or a licensed specialty subcontractor. We're fully licensed and insured, and I'm glad to go over that with you when I come out.
